German Giant Markus Ruhl out of Olympia with Triceps Tear

Markus Ruhl is out of the 2003 Mr. Olympia contest. On August 21st, he tore his triceps completely off of the bone while training his chest. Ruhl reported feeling a “pull” doing a flat bench press with 265-pounds, so he thought he should just have a light workout and took off 45 pounds, then with 220 the tricep tore completely.

Ruhl was still in the hospital as of August 26th ‹ recovering from the surgery. As of now, the frustration factor is very high this close to the big show and Ruhl thinks his next show will be the 2004 Night of Champions where he will qualify for next year’s Mr. Olympia. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Markus!
