Ronnie was born Ronald Dean Coleman on May 13, 1964, in Monroe, Louisiana. He currently resides in Arlington, Texas. He graduated from Grambling State College with a degree in accounting. He is currently a reserve police officer for the Arlington Police Department. He has been on the force since 1989.

Ronnie was introduced to competitive bodybuilding by Brian Dobson, the owner of Metro Flex Gym in Arlington. He won the heavyweight and overall title at his first bodybuilding contest, the Mr. Texas in April 1990. And the rest, as they say, is history…Ronnie Coleman is a true Mr. Olympia champion, he was the winner of the Mr. Olympia Competition in 2001, 2000, 1999, and 1998.
